There were excellent traditional family run restaurants offering good traditional French food at reasonable prices. Great place if you are interested in fishing, sea, seafood. The historical city is worth a short visit. A lot of choice in restaurants and fish shops. Nice beach and waterfront sites. A part of the marina neigbourhoud is under reconstruction, the result will be very nice.

Boulogne-sur-Mer is a small but pleasant town to visit if you want to escape from the busy city life. We visited Nausicaa, the largest aquarium in Europe! It was worth the drive from Holland! That was the main reason for out trip.

The old town of Boulogne-sur-Mer is right across the road and a short walk takes you to the port where we had an excellent evening meal in a great restaurant. We only stayed one night on our way back to Calais but would love to return for a longer stay and to explore the area more.
